Blog Post Expectations:
- The text title and author (fiction, non-fiction, news/magazine article, etc.)
- Proper grammar and spelling
- At least two paragraphs
Possible* Post Prompts:
- Select a passage from your reading and write about why you find it interesting, compelling, clever, beautiful, terrible.
- Analyze a character in the text. Why does this character stand out to you?
- Relate your reading to another text (poem, short story, novel, article, song, film, your own life). What are the similarities? Differences?
- Analyze the writing of your text. What can be said about the author's tone, diction, figurative language, syntax, etc.?
- Propose a theme demonstrated in the text. What is it? What evidence supports this theme?
- What do you like, find interesting about the text? Why?
- Does your outside reading connect to a text we have read/are reading in class? What are the connections?
- Would you recommend this text to someone else? What type of reader would enjoy it? Why?
